UK ESERO CanSat Competition
Achieved 2nd place nationally, winning the "Outstanding Scientific Mission" award, as project manager. In a team of 6 we built a satellite the size of a can and launched it 400m high, taking measurements and recordings along the way using Arduino, and producing live graphs of the data collected in Python, followed by uploading them to an app made using ReactNative.
Throughout the course of the project I was additionally responsible for writing a multiple c. 30 page design reviews, the final of which you can see here. Subsequently to submitting this we presented our project in the Finals with this presentation.
CERN Summer School Essay Winner
After writing an 800-word essay on "Growing hints of lepton-universality violation: progress and implications" (linked here), at a time where I had not studied even a modicum of particle physics yet, I won a place on the coveted CERN Summer School. Along with 20 other Year 12s across the UK we spent one week at CERN in Geneva, receiving talks on quantum physics by researchers on their work, and even went below ground to see the LHCb.
JPMorgan Generation Tech Course
I designed and developed an app in a team to assess individual learning styles and provide tailored study advice. This was to fucntion as a way of helping provide equitable and quality education for all - the 4th Sustainable Development Goal of the UN.
Hiking Weather App - Interaction Design Group Project
